Was lookin around for a 4 door XJ for the winter time. Havin a baby in late October, and my 2 door sucks to get a car seat into (We've tried with a friend's baby) I also don't want to drive my 2 door in the winter anymore. I happened upon this:

1997 XJ Sport 4 door. 4.0/AW4/NP242. Runs good, tranny works great, goes in and out of 4x4 fine. All the power windows and locks work too, also has the infinity 6 speaker stereo with the amp under the seat. Seller bought it to fix up for their daughter, but she lost interest and wanted a car. $500 and $25 in gas later, it sits in my driveway.
Good deal? :p

YES!

Was that the one located in Fernie but with Alberta registration, and needed brakes? With rear hatch rusted out a bit? Was totally looking at that for myself... Ended up with a green '98 for $700 instead though.
PM me if you need any parts (ie hatch). I'm about to part out a '97 black 4-dr XJ JUST like your new find :)

You are correct, that's the one! It needs brakes on all 4 corners, and the rear hatch is FUBARED. I have a black 99 XJ 2door I was trying to put back together (was rolled) but I'll be using it for parts instead. I'll be posting up a part out thread for that one soon.

I'm glad this one ended up in good hands, it's a killer baseline for a good project! I'm still a bit jealous even though the one I found was a good deal too :P

Heh well it's not really a project, just fixing a few things on it, about the only thing I'm gonna do is put some spacers in the front, and some 235/75/15's. The leafs have been replaced recently with 5 new leafs per side...sits kinda high in the back. Just want to even it out.

Finally got most of the things done, that were on the list. Put in new front and rear brakes, replaced the Tailgate with another that didn't have rust holes in it! I spent at least an hour removing the crappy old stickers on the outside, and inside on the windows. Stupid kids!
I had some 1.75" spacers from another project layin around and tossed them in. The wheels and 31's were also from another project. I think they look perfect on it! The H4 headlights I got from a member here (SFLY)

Best part of it all, IT'S NOT RED!
