Stay away from the big dealers. I have bought a lot of tires and its disgusting to think you can but goodyears from smaller shops cheaper than Fountain Tire who buys direct. Heck even Canadian Tire sells goodyears for cheaper. Try Jay @ Chanda as his prices are very competitive and the service is great.

You must be the only one because I have gotten stupid numbers on rubber from them. Not trying to knock them, just stating a fact.

I used Tireshark, he's a local guy that sells online only.  Delivered right to my door and even helped me get a vendor mail in rebate.  I bought 3 Duratracs 33x12.5 for $500 which included the rebate.

i believe is name is Glen.

Well like anywhere i buy from, i show up personally informed. i know what i can get them for on the internet with delivery, etc. But if i show up (not phone) and have a conversation over prices, i have always done well there. i am willing to pay a bit more locally.
Phoning them just won't get you the best deal.

I got a better price at Costco for my KM2's than anywhere else in town. Seems to be that the days of a good deal on tires in this town are gone, you would think that with such a saturation of the market in tires this city has at least one vendor would be willing to make a profit on quantity of sales rather than jacking up the price on one set of tires like they all do. When I was in the tire business this is what I would do, I sold more tires and made way more profit than most retailers in this city.
