I know we all have our preference for oil but partsource is selling 5 liter castrol gtx high mileage oil normally 43 for 17.79. Just thought I'd pass that on to stock up for your next oil change or two.
-
good price but that doesnt beat my price of 0 $ i work at a garage 4 L can easly go missing :) and thats if i ever do a oil change .
last one went 22,000 km .. my bad
-
I pay about $30 for 12 x 1L at costco
-
I don't have a costco card so I have never checked the prices there. That's good to know though. :)
I did an oil change just over a month ago and I'm doing another because I have to replace my rear main... again. Should be a quick fix. :D
-
I get Pensoil and Valvoline for $11-12 for 5L at Walmart....
I'll check out Costco...Cheers
-
I wish Costco would sell it by the 4-5 liter jug. I'm not big on pouring all my oil back into 1L bottles. I usually wait til Canadian Tire puts it on for $12-15/jug.
-
Do they ever have better prices on Castrol out here? I've always been a Castrol fan, but haven't ever seen it cheap like last night.

I pour my drain pans into an old 5 gallon water jug and take that in. The dump will take less then 20l at a time.

You don't even do oil changes :P

Shell Rotella 10w30 and 15w40 is all I run in my Jeeps now. Great quality oil, and has extra ZINC for the old 4.0. Also it's priced fairly close to everything else. Gonna start buyin the 20L pails soon!
-
Stupid store actually sells mobil 1 synthetic for around $40 a jug.
-
I used to do the 20l container of Shell Rotella but now i got a couple winters worth of lighter oil,
5 jugs sitting in the garage :o
-
And I thought I was the only one who ran 15w40.
Quiets down the top end, lots.

I would suggest if you are attempting to be humourous, it may be time for some new material.
If you actually want to provide the old 4.0 with increased zinc check out GM EOS (engine oil supplement).

Yeah I've been using 15w40 diesel oil in the 4.0 for summer and 0w40 for winter. Quieter valves.

Sorry to have to disappoint you guys but from what I understand Rotella no longer has any more Zinc in it than any other oil. Seems they have had to remove it just like they have from all the other API certified oils just to meet all of the new & very stringent emissions standards (thanks California). If you want to run oil with sufficient zinc levels for our flat tappet 4l motors your going to have to run a non API certified oil such as Royal Purple HPS. As for the comment on how much you can recycle at the dump, I recycled pretty close to 80L today without any issues at all and have recycled up 300L in the past, they pumped out an entire barrel for me.

Nah. That's still funny.
Especially with some belt dressing on it. :D
