Title: Welding course update Oct 25, 2011
Post by: Black Betty on September 29, 2011, 12:52:21 PM: I have yet to hear back from the hall on our welding course. I would hazard a guess to say that they will not be ready for this weekend.

I will contact them again and start hounding them for a date. I will also get it in writing so we can have something firm.

As for now, please hold tight and I will contact those of you on the list with a date when I hear back from them.

Sorry for the delay!

Spoke with the training coordinator today, he is still lining up all the right welding tools for us here. Course date may change but he will get back to me by Friday.

Ok, finally heard back from the hall, we are going to tentitevly hold the 8 hour course on Saturday October 29, 2011, at the ua local 496 hall.

Cost of the course will be known soon, they are still figuring this out, will update with price (est $150-$200)

They are also checking all the welding machines to ensure they are in good working order, and ready to go. There will be space for 12-14 guys including myself.

I will keep this post updated, please reply on this topic (yes again), if you want your name on the list. If you don't make it to this course we can have more.

To be honest I have been busy. It is like pulling teeth to get ahold of the union and if and when they do call me back, they don't leave a message. I've been out of town working on a project and it has pushed all my in town work back, making me busier. I am an HVAC tech, due to the cooler weather I have been swamped.

I do check this thread as often as I can and keep everyone in line based on replies. I'm still waiting on a firm date from the union. I will keep the list in order, when a firm date is set I will post.

If anyone wants more information pm me and I will give you my number and we can talk more.
