I want to ditch mine. Is there any legal infraction by doing so?
-
I wouldn't think there would be any legal infractions, there are lots of vehicles without 3rd lights.
If you get pulled over for not having one, just tell the officer that Ian said you didn't need one :lol: :lol:
-
thanks bro... i'll use that line and send you the ticket ;)

doesn't seem to be law here.

Traffic Safety Act:
3 If a motor vehicle has the following equipment or safety system installed by the manufacturer of that vehicle, the equipment or system must be maintained in good working order:
(a) an anti?lock braking system;
(b) daytime running lamps;
(c) a centre high mounted brake lamp.

Ok but how many cops are going to really know that :) I find driving my YJ for the past couple years the cops don't even look at me. Tinted windows, bigger tires, no third brake light, gas can hanging off the back, no proper mud flaps and more. So I don't think I would worry about it.

I took my 3rd light off first week I bought my Jeep, that was 5 years ago, never been an issue. Still have so if I ever get a warning, I just put back on.
