Great deals! I have contacted Poison Spyder regarding shipping costs and will let you all know what they come back with, hopefully it is reasonable!

Just got a shipping quote of $75.94 shipped via UPS, and there should be no Duties as all Currie products are manufactured in the U.S.A and would be part of the NAFTA.

Poison spyder bought the inventory on close out. I assume from some company that had the inventory and couldn't sell it or went under. So it's not actually a currie sale

You still get hit with UPS fees regardless of manufacture location. I have seen up to 70% of item cost.

Yup. Shipping via UPS is legally sanctioned rape.

For real!?  Holy crap, any ideas what these "fees" cover?

Brokerage. Given that UPS is their own brokerage firm, it's pretty much pure profit for them.

If you want to avoid getting hosed, you have two options:

#1. Ship via USPS.

#2. Ship to Montana Shipping Outlet in Sweetgrass, drive down, pick it up, and pay GST at the border.

#1 Shipping via USPS is not an option as Poison Spyder claims the goods are to heavy.
#2 I've considered this option in the past and it never seems worth it, unless of course you are heading down that way...
Hmm, maybe I should take my chances...

You don't have to pay brokerage fees if you clear it yourself

You're going to do whatever you want to do, no matter what is said by those of us that have learned the hard way. Why bother asking?

Once you've read through the link that Vinman provided you'll also want this one;

http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/dm-md/d17/d17-4-0-eng.pdf

Specifically Section 56 when you are heading to UPS/FEDEX and the Clearing office

I'm going to give this a try and see how it works out!

If you're doing an order I'll take a pair of sliders.

Sorry dude, I put an order in already... I'm not sure how this got put in this thread, but I didn't really intend on doing a group buy...Now that I think about it, it does make sense. Hmm...

But if you place an order let me know and I will let you know how the whole self-clearing thing goes!

It got moved to the "group buy" section because last time someone moved a post of yours from the "for sale" section to the "general talk" section because you didn't have anything on hand to sell, there was a lot of complaining. Oh well...just can't make some people happy.

Meh, doesn't matter to me much, where evere you feel it belongs that cool.

On another note, the sliders came in today via UPS and I didn't have to sign for anything or pay any additional charges...yet...not sure if I should expect them to send me a bill or not, but I guess we will wait and see.
