The only thing that gives you better traction than skulls is barbed wire.

I don't really care what a tire looks like as long it works. I have no experience with these but seriously considered them when I was looking for tires. My conclusion is that they are louder then Dick Cepek Mud Countries and perform a little better, espeacilly in mud. The bones are kinda like paddles on a bogger, nice offroad, loud on the road.

u would think that but i ran a set of xterrains(31-1050) in the winter 5 years ago and never looked back ran them between 30 to 25 though and  got 60000kms plus outta them.....; i think tires are one thing driver mod helps alot.........  plus i drive to and from tuscany to irricana everyday so really if i hit the ditch i like to get outta the ditch (knock on wood only hit ditch oce while i was in control of vechile in life)

see i dont carry a cell phone for various legal reasons.... so being self reliant is important to me...

I'd imagine they would suck in winter conditions, I'd be inclined to go a different direction. There are better tires for a DD, and better tires for a trail rig. But yeah, I'd imagine these tires would rock in deep snow. Which is good because you'll probably be spending a fair amount of time in the ditch actually never mind that, they should be ok, mediocre on winter roads.

yeah i am going to stare at them for abit to more while on the lathe and maybe they will have a date with a tire iron...  just a little off the top

I love the look of those tires, and was seriously considering a set until a fair bit of reading seemed to indicate that they suck as a winter tire.  Deep snow seems to be no issue, but most people seemed to rate them sub-par for slick/icy roads.  Aside from that, they seem well regarded for rock, mud, etc.

It's a shame really, since I think they look great.

Now that being said, it was all online research........no first hand experiance or stories.

Surprising tip for just cleaning them up.. Just use regular toothpaste, put it right on the headlight and scrub it well with a rag.. Rinse off then do it once more. It took the ones on my pickup from probably about 40% to about 70%

yeah see napa had those 40 dollar 3m kits on sale last month for 20.... so i bought one of those if not a sander and the proper pads will work to.... i will post some pics of the headlights in  my build up....they are 100% including signals(nice and bright again).... ihave nother set as the vechile came with a replacement front for the cracked one... so i have some hazed over lights for comparison....

i know i get high beamed all the time for my low beams and there only the piaa extreme whites....and thefunny thing is its all the new vechiles with hids doing it to me....

i have plans for piaas 7led driving lights and some scrap plate and the break at work...

okay so been driving these for 3 weeks now.. got about 2500 kms on them already... and amn... they stick when u want them to...

i think there between a sticky and regular tire caus eone good spin and your gone... even the other day driving out on the 566 which is rutted to crap the ruts where full of water in the sun ice in the shade and i never felt slippage any time... and i was doing 120 passing people withonly my rear drive shaft in...

i think its alot to do with the driver and knowing what u can and cant do cause  i dotn put myself into stupid situations..

all though i have been doing donuts entering parking lots but mostly on purpose there was a couple ties i gassed it hard to see what it would do and i could gather it back up pretty easy.  overall i give them a 7 so far out of 10

And you don't think going 120 passing cars on icy roads with any mud tire is a bad idea? Just sayin...

no if i was doing my usual fish tailing while doing it that might be bad... see i think doing a donut while entering a parking lot is perfectly normal

i havent had this much fun on winter roads in a long time... i got caught out in that crap yesterday and driving home was hilarious i think i fishtailed for about 90% of the drive ... they feel like they are outta control then they grip its funny as hell...

i was sliding on ramps drift style all the way down them ... just laughing while doing it...

and the best part is i still havenyt replaced my t case and my front driveshaft isnt in..... so 2wd with boggers its awesome...

love them

so i have been playing with pressures and such... seems about 40 i get the best milage they are rated up to 50, 28 i get the best traction but milage is crap...

left a good two tire patch behind at a intersection today was kinda funny they sound ghostly when spinning...
