Well,
Due to some rough running and starting (on may 2007 JKU Rubicon; yes, mini van motor :P) it appears it is time for some new spark plugs (137,500 km). I bought it used at 127,500 so, I don't know if plugs have been replaced before.
So, my question(s) is/are: what spark plugs do you recommend, and should I replace the wires and/or distributer cap too while I am at it? The wires seem to look fine but, I have not taken the cap off to look at it.
Thanks for your advice!

Only use Champion plugs in a Chrysler engine ;)

Jay,
Thanks for the advice. Any particular ones (i.e. double platinum tip V-groove etc)? Also, why only Champion?

Black champion truck plugs.
They discontinued those did they not? I havent been able to find them anywhere as of late :( If you have a supplier Aaron please PM me ill buy another set while I can. I tried switching to an Autolite that was recommended to repalce the Truck Plugs but they dont even come close to the Champions :(

Any reason for this or did you just buy a metric ton load of Thier stocks? :)

I worked as a chrysler tech for 12 years and in that time I and the dealers found that champion plugs are the best match. Most other brands will give you problems sooner or later.

for the 4L TJ I've had these 3 recommended.
Autolite xp-985 iridium
Autolite double tipped platinum APP985
Champion 7034
if that helps at all

Guys,
Thanks for all of your tips.
I have gone with the Champion Double Platinum (Canadian Tire finally had 6 in).
But, I haven't heard any response as to whether I should replace the wires and/or distributor cap at this time. Any suggestions. The wires look fine but, I haven't taken the cap off to look at it yet.
Thanks,
Jeff

Do you have a dist cap?

Jeff
I have the OEM Wires, Distributer of the JKU 2009 Sahara, if they are same as urs and you need them we can work something out.
I believe they where used for a bout a 1.5 years i think and then i bought the Performance Distributors Firepower Ignition Kit.

It's almost never a bad idea to replace something in a jeep :P
whether its needed in your 07 idk, I'd plan on replacing mine on my 03 (if I had wires)
if they still look good, its your call but some people do it every two years

Thanks guys!
I hope to get to it in the next couple of weeks.
If they look good and fire fine after I replace the plugs I will leave them alone. If it ain't broke...
