I notice that there have been some off roading 101 outings in the past. I am new to the jeep scene and would love to attend one of these to get to know my jeep and it capabilities. Does anyone know if this is an annual thing or when the next one might come up?
-
Yes there will be another Jeep 101 this year, I will be organizing and it will be held in June. Check out the CJA club for exact date. There will more information coming in the next few months so stay tuned

Awesome. I am definitely interested in it. I did see it on the calendar. June 23rd I believe. Is there a cost for this?
-
We ask for a donation of what you think it was worth. The money goes to our trail fund

I would recommend the 101, it was awesome! :D

Just bought a 2005 TJ a couple hours ago. Owned 4x4s before but never did much actual offroading. I'd love to come out for this event.
I think I saw a posting on this before but couldn't find it -- what's my best bet for getting recovery points and/or getting them installed?

Congrats and welcome to the addiction. You should have 2 factory ones on your front bumper, they look like fish hooks. And another one on the rear drivers side under the bumper that looks like a bent paper clip. If not let me know... Got the fronts sitting on my porch waiting for me to find a good home for em.

Yeah, no such luck. Didn't think I saw them and now that I have her home I have confirmed -- a whole lot of nothing.

I'd certainly be interested in buying your set. PM me the details and let's set something up.

They arent for sale... Youll need em for the 101 where you can donate to the trail fund so these are free, got the tools to put em on?
-
These could prolly work if the bolt holes are spaced properly.

You'll quickly learn that PA can be one of your best friends while you own a Jeep ;)
Welcome to the addiction!!! 8)

Whatever recovery points you decide to get, please invest in some good hardware for them. Ideally, buy some nice new Grade 8 bolts at Gregg's. The best recovery point in the world is no good if the bolt holding it to the frame fails and the hook becomes a projectile.
