Title: Motto Trail Grapplers
Post by: Kanueh on May 26, 2012, 08:22:00 AM
Oops Nitto not Motto....Auto correct got me.

What's the difference between these tire sizes? I see the E after the rim size but not sure of the difference.

the 315 isn't a true 35 (34.25 if I recall) and it is just slightly narrower.

34.4 x 12.0 roughly. Unless you have a 3/4 or 1 ton that they are going on, get the "d" rating.

I actually like my "E" rated Toyos on my JK. 24 psi on-road and they ride not bad (for a Jeep) and wear very evenly.

That surprises me. How much heavier is the 4 door vs the 2 door JK?
Have you tried them offroad and were you able to get any flex of sidewall and at what psi?

4 door is +/- 4500 - althought I've got a winch and steel bumpers (and my own amply proportioned frame) weighing the Jeep down too.

Off-road, they were acceptable at 11 psi, but they work just great at 9 psi. The only folks I see getting much more sidewall flex are running beadlocks.

that is really good info. So, are they as good offroad as i 'think' they would be?

I like 'em a lot off road. They never ran out of grip in Moab (surprise, suprprise) and they seem to do just as well as what anyone else that I wheel with is running (apples to apples) here in Alberta. They don't look like they should work any better than the BFG KM's or a dozen other tires...but I've never felt let down by mine.

No. Like I said in my first post in this thread, I have Toyos. I don't own any Nittos. When I said "too", I was referring to the fact that you said you had Toyos.

The interwebs is good fer sendin' them word thingys, but it stink like untanned possum fur boots fer gettin' unnerstanning.
