Title: Genrite Hi-Line Aluminum Fenders
Post by: Bnine on June 10, 2012, 03:32:26 PM
Pretty straight forward. Definately recommend there for anyone doing new fenders. They actually weigh a few pounds less then factory fenders.

Few people have asked about these in the past, so here they are.

Thanks bud

I will  just raise the stockers and trim into the tub a bit, then seal it in. I cut the hood 3 inches.

I've got a set of the steel versions, very nice. They weren't as heavy as I thought they would be, but the alloy ones would be much lighter. Genright did a good job designing and building these units. If I recall that's a 4" lift and 33" tire so you've got plenty of room. Thanks for posting the pic, gives me an idea how mine should turn out.

That Savvy bumper is a very nice unit 8)  Something crazy like 16lbs right?

Yeah, if that. Its definately light weight. I did the rear as well. All in all this aluminum diet shaved just over 200lbs. Eventually when I change out the hard top doors I should net a total of 400 plus pounds.

Yeah, Eric. Tons of room. I am going to lose the lift springs and just run stockers with the extended shackles. Should bring it down 2-3". From there a 1" body lift, slam the belly, and tuck the tank. Savvy has a fuel tank skid for YJ's now.

It will be a while though. I just hit this one in my spare time between all the other stuff I do.

Looks good Bill,
Is your own Jeep and if so, is it going to be a street driver instead if trail only?

what did you have to change underhood to accomodate the fenders?  pictures of the mods underhood if any?

Yeah its mine Vince. This is the drive to the trail, budget minded rig. Down the road I will mod the comp rig to be streetable as well, but just dont have the time or funds to tackle that right now.

Nootch, underhood Im using the genrite inner fenders. That part isnt done yet. Everything is just tied up for now.

You could re use the stock inners, but with the hiline it would get messy moving them up. Everything will be re hung in its original location using the new aluminum inners. It will just take some time and some finess.

Are you using the TJ inner fender kit? I didn’t think they made one for a YJ
