Title: RTI formula
Post by: jeep420 on May 07, 2006, 07:29:22 PM
Does anyone know the formula to figure out RTI.  I believe that is what it is called...  Using a forklift on the front wheel I can lift it 19 inches when the back wheel starts lifting.  I would like to compare my jeep versus the magazines but dont know the conversion.

The formula is usually based on distance travel up a 20 degree ramp and is a percentage of distance travel vs. wheelbase x 1000.  However, I did find this formula for you

RTI = Tire Height/sin(20*PI/180)/Wheelbase*1000

Also here is a good link http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-corner/rti.htm
