was out at mclean today and the JK got the "HOT OIL" message followed but the engine overheating and spewing rad fluid everywhere.
Cut my day short. happened about ten minutes past the gate. Ruined my afternoon. Was still in 2WD.
Rant over
The Electric Fan didn't seem like it was coming on. I brought it home and cleaned it and its still over heating. Also the A/C blasts hot air now.
Any suggestions on what this is? Thermostat? A/C condenser? Fan? Suggestions?

The same thing happened in my sister in laws liberty last week. It was a fan. You should
Be able to unplug the fan and hook it to a 12v power source (jump wires to battery) to test the fan.
The hot ac gives it away.

I had the overheating issue and the hot A/C. Mine turned out to be the fan, it got wet and stopped working. Once it dried out it has been fine but I ordered a Spal waterproof fan and a replacement fan shroud from universal parts Inc.
Once I get everything I'll do a write up on the install. Even with crazy shipping cost for the stuff from the US it's still not that much over the price of installing another $240 fan motor alone from the factory.
To test the bad fan I used a volt meter to make sure I was getting power to the fan. If it doesn't come on with high temp or when the A/C is on I think it safe to say its the fan. But that being said, since I haven't looked at it, it's just a guess. If you don't have the tools to test it I'm sure someone from the club in your area does, or to a shop it goes. I'm in Calgary so let me know and I can try to help if you need it.
