Title: There's an App for that
Post by: birdo on September 12, 2012, 01:57:52 PM
While on the recent Ghost/Wiaparous run, I showed a few of the fellas my engine monitoring App (for Iphone) from GoPoint Technology.
The App monitors all aspects of the ECM and displays items like coolant temp. engine load, throttle position, manifold pressure, rpms, O2 sensor voltages etc.
If an engine code trips, it displays, in English, what the fault is and the code can be cleared as well. The App is free. The cable that connects your Iphone to the
port underneath the dash panel, is about $100.00 and can be ordered. I mount my Iphone to the windshield using a suction cup holder. One nice bonus is that your Iphone gets charged as you go. Worth checking out if you like that sort of thing. The device can be used on other vehicles as well. There is no specific software for particular cars as the OBD-II is pretty much universal now. It just reads data thru the port....like a poor man's OBD-II reader.
