We had some low oil pressure in the MJ, so I dropped the pan and changed the oil pump. Reused to the pick up. I thought I had primed it, using a drill, started it up and had 0 pressure. I took off the distributor again and I have been trying to prime it again, but not getting anything.
Before I pull the pan again (I don't want to), any ideas on why I can not get the oil to pump?

Do you have a mechanical gauge to double check it Kevin?
Assume you cleaned out the old pickup and the pan before you reinstalled them? Dodge oil pickups are awesome at collecting crap.

Take your oil filter off and prime it, see if it spits any oil out. Or just put your hand on it and feel if there is oil going through it.

Mechanical gauge is on. The pan and pickup were cleaned. Oi level is good (yes I put 5.7l in :-) )
I did take off the filter and nothing... I read that it I prime it with a drill for 1-2 minutes, it should start to move the oil and you should be able to feel it getting harder... guess I will drop the pan again.
Besides a blockage in the pickup, would there be any other areas that I should be looking at for blockages?

Is there a gasket between the pump and pickup?

I'm not sure if it matters but are you turning the pump in the right direction with the drill?

You should get some pressure almost immidiately, sounds like the pick-up is the problem. Make sure to look inside the pick-up for gasket maker and other junk. I would take the pan off and if you cant see anything wrong than stick the pick-up in a small bucket of oil and prime it. Maybe you'll be able to see whats going on.

Fixed! Thanks for all the tips. The gasket had moved when I put it in... Cleaned everything again and it did prime right away.
