Post by: Ddub1973 on November 21, 2012, 11:16:58 AM

Here is a little about my work history:

What is MRO?

Many people have heard or are familiar with the term "MRO." While they might accurately associate the term with the work of mechanics in an industrial environment, many of the same individuals would be hard-pressed to provide a specific explanation and meaning of the term.

Simply put:

"M" stands for Maintenance. In an industrial context, the maintenance frequently involves some type of capital equipment or machinery.

"R" stands for Repair. By inference, the repair would normally involve some type of capital equipment or machinery.

"O" stands for Operations. Operations normally refers to the operating inventory, including the inventory used to maintain equipment as well as miscellaneous supplies such as office and cleaning supplies. It can also include such things as travel services or computers that are needed to run a business but not central to the business's output. In some quarters, the "O" has taken on the meaning of overhaul (of equipment and machinery), which follows closely the definitions of the "M" and "R."

If you've got the interpersonal skills and work ethic required to be truly successful in outside sales, you will not be unemployed again. If you can handle the sort of work that Jennsen is talking about, you will be able to write your own ticket (within reason) for the rest of your working life.
