Title: Fusebox help
Post by: SkatersTj on April 30, 2013, 03:34:30 PM
Wondering if anyone could help me wire up a fuse box for my scrambler, the old one was tarred in place and had about 50 non used wires sticking out of it. Now i'm not very good with electricity but i know thats asking for a short so when i removed my dash and old gauges i took the old wiring with it. In doing so, one of the scary spots where about 5 wires spliced together ive messed up and to be honest i'm lost. Please help!

what have you got planned for a rewire? junkyard fuse panel, new kit, piece together your own?. Heres what i know. It is better to buy a kit with wire and fuses than it is to piece together the pieces from princess auto. Heres why. Rolls of wire are expensive and unless you have connections it is hard to get more than 7 colors of wire. Generic kits can be had on the internet and possibly some suppliers on this list for less than a couple bills.

contact me off list. I can rewire your jeep if you want but your will need to supply the parts and supplies including things like zap straps solder heatshrink, wire ect. Tell me what its worth to you. Im one of these freaks that enjoys wireing. I guess thats part of being a ham radio guy . Also have 2 years in trade school as a radio tech. ect. I can probly rewire your jeep in a couple of days after work at your place or mine

Might even take a trade in parts or tools for my 58 fc170 or 73Jeepster commando or maybe ever fence repair / paint

When i was wiring up my 73 chev I ended up spending the money on a few harnesses from these guys..

Made the price worthwhile once it was installed.. Most hot rod shops will carry painless locally.

Thanks for the input guys, I ended up going to a hotrod shop and bought a speedway motors 20 fuse kit. Thanks cammafondo for the offer, but I have a friend who would like to wire it for me.  Mabe learn how to do it for possiblt next time. Should i silicone the fuse box wire connections, or just  mount it in a sealing tuperwear container?
