i've searched, there aren't a lot of CJ threads here (or CJ's i've see around Calgary...)
i have an old 2.5" rancho from the PO, clears 33's on the street but need to swap to my 31's for even mild trail riding. there's a good source price wise for BDS in calgary, anyone local tried their stuff? i'm looking at a 4" kit
the other option is a small body + small shackle lift to get up around 4"...thoughts on that? i've read a lot about shackle lifts and not excited about that, i've done body lift to YJ/TJ before so i know that can of worms well.
thanks for opinions...

I am really happy with my BDS lift (4" on a YJ) - double military wrap, riveted clamps with poly sliders, no sag and I've had it on about 8 years or so, with heavy bumpers and a winch - they make quality parts and have an awesome warrantee program.
Seems alot of guys do a SOA with stock YJ leafs too - poke around on Pirate, alot of CJ tech on there

Bds is good bang for the buck. I believe someone has a kit to swap yj leaf packs into cj. Worth looking at if you want to lift your cj. Also look into grease able shackles.

Yes YJ leafs can be done and I think all you need to do is get the adapter shackles to go from 2" to 2.5" wide leafs
I loved my OME kit on my YJ and the ride on the street was amazing and performed excellent offroad. I would recommend a 1" body lift and a 0.5" shackle lift. Look at the MORE boomerang shackles. The longer shackles will help with offroad performance

If you want some stock YJ leafs to play with if you go that route i have a set of used ones in decent condition :)

I did a lift on my CJ-7 quite a few years ago, but I used Superlift springs for a 4" lift, with H.D. Greaseable shackles. It rides okay for me, but then again it is a Jeep. I am runnings 33" tires without issues. When I replaced all the body mounts, I went with a kit that added a 1" lift as well. I could most likely run 35's. A lot more option nowadays.
