Title: Whine with the 3.6 After Offroading
Post by: tzettler on May 09, 2013, 12:23:58 PM
Hey guys I've a 2013 JK, well broken in, yet after i brought it to Waiparous last weekend it developed a whine during acceleration and very minor during decel.  Sounds vaguely comparable to a turbo spooling, a sick turbo...... anyone have this happen?  Would like to fix the issue myself as I'm sure this would not get fixed through warranty lol

And to specify it is consistent with tbe RPM, and also is prevalent in the first two gears, barely there in third, and non-exidyent in the rest,  thanks!

Strong chance it is your idler pulley if you were playing in any mud, it will fail, it will snap your serpentine belt. Get it in for warranty work.
