anyone ever put a cruise control out of Cherokee into a yj? I have the parts Cherokee already, I have all the wires traced except the white/pink wire that goes a box in the passenger side cab of the Cherokee, not sure what this wire is for, guessing its the vss. iv posted this elsewhere and got nothing but suggestions on after market cruise systems and I'm not interested in that since I already have the parts, thanks for any help. p.s. its a 93 Cherokee 4.o l and 94 yj 4.o l ho

is the box up behind the dash on the passenger side? A bit bigger than a deck of cards? Is so then that would be the TCM for the AW4 automatic.

that sounds like it the Cherokee is an auto, the white/pink stripe wire goes from the steering column connector to the ecm plug but splits off and goes to that box and I have no idea what its for, google aint much help either
this is what I have for wiring trace - blue/red to brake switch
black - ground
brown/red - # 33 in ecm plug
green/red - #53 in ecm plug
black/white - ignition
white/pink - brake switch/# 29 ecm plug and the box behind the glove box
if anyone can where to connect the white/pink strip wire, that would b great, and thanks again.

Oh snap. If you get this done, do a write up. Good luck.

Try googling "2nd gear please mod". This is a mod that rewires the TCM in the Cherokees to allow manual selection of first or second gear. The write up may give the TCM pinouts.
I'm guessing the wire is just the TCM telling the ECM and cruise control that the transmission is in gear.
