I'm pretty much expected to have my clubs with me at all times while I'm working. Problem is I park in an open lot on the East side of city Hall (read shady) and have a soft top which is down most of the time. I need to keep my back seat in for various reasons otherwise i'd just build a hard tonneau and be done with it.
Anybody got any good ideas to keep the clubs fom getting stolen? Also anywhere where I can get a cheap locking bag?
TIA

I am kind of in the same situation with my stereo equipment. All i did was go to totem and picked up some aviation wire (1/8 of an inch diam. or so), made loops on the ends, and locked it with a pad lock to the strap loops on the floor.
Seeing that you are using a golf bag, you could probably use a thicker wire, since i was restricted to size becuase of the screw holes on my amp. But luckly an amp is a little more hidden than a golf bag ;)
It could still be stolen by someone prepaired, but i suppose a prepaired person could probably steal just about anything anything.

Would an Instatrunk accommodate golf clubs? It's made of plastic, but you could prolly fab one out of metal for cheap.

I dont think there is anyway you could fit golf clubs behind the back seat. Therefor an instatrunk probably wouldnt be a solution.

Thought of the aircraft cable, however, there is no way to lock the actual clubs into the bag so I'd have a bag left with no clubs :(

Do TJ rear seats tumble forward like some YJ's did?
Or you could get yourself an XJ....LOL

yep, they fold and tumble.

Maybe you could tumble it forward and put some kinda box in there.

This is not a great answer. But here goes.
You will probably just have to carry your clubs into the office with you. The downside of the TJ is lack of storage. I have an add-a-trunk, I put a few small things in there and lock it up when the soft top is on. I take everything out of the jeep in the summer so there is nothing to steal when the roof is down. I also never lock my jeep, that way, hopefully no-one will cut a hole in it trying to see what I left in there.

No room in my office to bring clubs in (not even a small storage area). I'll have to sitck with my original plan and build a hard tonneau. Guess I won't be golfing for three weeks...all my weekends are planned for the next while with other events. Shoot.

can you not leave them at your club?

Hey, when you were talking about a "cheap locking bag" i just assumed you were talking about something like a lockable hard luggage case for golf clubs. That would lock your clubs in the case.
