Title: Iron Rock Double Shear Trackbar Upper Bolt Issue
Post by: bRIBEGuy on May 30, 2013, 06:55:33 PM
Hey Guys,

Under the Jeep tonight checking to make sure everything is 100% (okay, 85%...) for this weekends off-road 101.  Checked the torque on the upper track bar bolt (Iron rock double shear), and it seemed really loose.  No biggy, right?  Out comes the torque wrench and.........nothing.  Seems like the bolt/nut is stripped.  Which means that as much as I've spent the past 35 minutes trying to get the thing out, I can remove the nut/bolt either.

ARG!!!

Anyone have any idea on a way to get this out, or am I going to have to resort to trying to grind of the bolt head and pound the thing out?

Ha ha ha......that's what I figured.  Damn.

Anyway, dropped the front skid, got out the grinder, a center punch & mallet and went to town.  Bolt is out.

Now to figure out the hardware and see about hitting up Calgary Fasteners tomorrow.  Pretty sure it's 12mm x 80mm.
