http://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/canada/chrysler-recalling-2-7-million-jeeps-in-u-s-canada-1.1331368
everyone probably knows but thought i would post just in case and those affected could find out the info they need

The 1993-1998 ZJs are going to be a recall, so will the 2002-2007 Libertys. The 1999-2004 WJs will be an inspection only, no hitches installed.
Overall the whole thing is straight BS and fear mongering, 1 death for roughly every 5 million years the vehicles have been on the road. I really hope that Chrysler only pays for the ones that are newer than 10 years and makes the customer pay for the others, might help dampen the "give me free crap" attitude.

ummm
the hitch doesn't make it any safer.............. go look at any WJ where you can see the whole freaken gas tank still exposed.
what a waste of time.
just to be safe maybe i better sell my ZJ................ lol

What a joke. Chrysler initially stood up to them and now have folded over a NOTHING issue. Guess the costs of vehicles will rise now.

Jeep ZJ is now the modern day Ford Pinto.

I think that means my ZJ just got upgraded from "worthless hooptie" to "misunderstood classic." Awesome!
