Title: Dreaded door lock Jam
Post by: bullitt85 on July 16, 2013, 09:48:31 PM
I changed out my handles for ones that are not rusted, the driver side now jams when locked and wont unlock.
Door works great as long as I don't lock it.

I had to pull the door panel while the door was shut and get in their with a flat head screw driver to unlock the door and begin to trouble shoot.
Found the tumbler would slightly over rotate the arm which caused the lock mechanism (white plastic linkage ) to bind up while trying to move into the unlock position and needs to be constantly pulled forward to be able to move into the unlock position.
I am rounding this up to worn plastic inserts ( the little orange bits that hold the rods ) and slack building between them all.

My question is :
Has anyone encountered this? Has a different fix or a better diagnosis?
Where am I going to find these little parts?
