Peter Straub sent this to us to post and make people aware:
Please be advised that starting September 2, 2013 through to the end of October; Transalta will be doing some major road repair work at about km 4.5 on the “Transalta” road in the GHOST. If you get inquiries from the public please refer to the attached notice and map.
The same notice and map will be posted to the local area kiosks advising users; road construction signs will also be set up. No permanent closure will be occurring but traffic may be delayed temporarily as the road will be down to one widened lane and I am not sure if the width will be able to accommodate two-way traffic in the interim.
Please contact myself if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Wendy Mingo

Wow. You're....like....all hardcore and shiz dude. I hope that the rest of us can grow up to be cool like you.

maybe some of you do not know this ROAD, it is not a trail but a ROAD.
it sucks as a ROAD and to access trails off this ROAD, will not be affected.

Yup. That was kinda my point. If there's a road, then there's no point in that road being in poor condition. Washboard and pit run gravel do not count as "gatekeeper" obstacles in my books....but I'm one of those arrogant trail kings with a beater rig that's all scratched up. It's not like I know anything that you can't find out from Google Earth.

The only roids Todd knows are hemorrhoids...
You assumably drive a Jeep. Pavement is optional.

, instead of mall crawlers they can now be classified as google earth crawlers.

blah :)

so it's a ROAD, and ROADs should not be in poor shape, but if I say pave it you take a shot at me ;D it's so funny how you guys try to find ANYTHING to argue about, even if it means contradicting yourselves ;D
Yeah. We just suck. Too bad there's nowhere else on the internet for you to go and hang out without all of us yokels to bother you.

well, it's just that I see SOOOO much crap being said about the CJA when i'm on the interweb trying to find my way to the gugle maps, or from people when i'm on the trail on my way to some blocked off private land, that I just HAD to see for myself. and usually i cool off for a couple weeks or months, then i hear another story, and i come back for another quick taste. and you folks sure don't disappoint :D

here's the deal, i probably use that road more often than you have ever used the trunk road, It has a great staging area for riding dirtbikes and there is an awesome camping spot on that road. That trail absolutely beats the heck out of my truck but not really a concern, i can deal with that. But, when i pull a cargo trailer for winter rides or pull my travel trailer to hidden camping spots, it really does suck.
For any one that wheels and uses that road, its no big deal but there really are no tuff trails anywhere near that road so i am unsure how fixing the road can impact a real wheeler. If you want i can direct you to tuff white knuckle trails that are now illegal but will never be fixed.
In summary, fixing the road is good for us users that access our playground and they will never pave it but i am sure that no one is upset about the paving that has occurred just shy of the 940's first stage area.

So....do you also go to bars and then complain that the place smells like beer?
