Hey all,
Some ID10Ts went ripping around our boys school yard last weekend causing a lot of damage to the newly landscaped areas...
------------------------------
After a considerable time of planning, the landscaping project was initiated in the last two weeks. Aspen Grove Landscaping did a terrific job of re-grading the hill and field behind the Elementary School, work required as a result of last year’s construction project. Just one week ago they laid the new sod that will be ready in about another month for the children to play on during their time outside. The lush new grass was a symbol of visible progress over two months of hard work on many different projects and it was uplifting for many of us to see it finally in place.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a four wheel drive vehicle was driven from 49th St. down the hill outside the East Elementary School entrance. It proceeded along the sidewalk North to the upper field, ripping up the turf as the driver pulled the vehicle in tight circles in several places. The vehicle then proceeded to drive South through the newly sodded area, ripping it up and leaving deep ruts from one end to the other. Needless to say, this will result in thousands of dollar repair work cause by this senseless act.
We are asking for you help. Our security cameras captured video of the vehicle as it sped away from the school. Unfortunately the license plate is not visible. A couple of still images of the vehicle, and some photos of the damage done, may be found at http://www.calgarychristianschool.com/docs/library/Dear%20CCS%20Family%20Photos.pdf. While somewhat blurry, the images provide enough detail to show a fairly distinct off road vehicle, perhaps a Jeep Wrangler, silver or white in color. If you recognize this vehicle, or have any knowledge of those who did this damage to our property, please let me know and I will pass that on to the police to assist in their investigation.
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you know this vehilce, or have any info on it.... please contact me and will pass along tips.... or contact the police directly

Hmm. Bushwacker flat fenders. Drivers rear back half missing. 33 inch tires? Family style roll bar and three people in jeep. 4 to 6 inches lift ?Any other details we should be looking for ?

if i'm not mistaken that looks like it could be an LJ....... not many of those around....
-
I don't think its an LJ.... That last pic just looks a little stretched...
And no, Andy.... nothing else to go on.
-
Fraser.... sick those Beyond bulldogs on it.... lol
-

If you look at the angle of the rollbar looks like it's an LJ
-
i think its a LJ too cause of the space in front of the rear tire to the door.
i only know of one lifted silver LJ, but he doesnt have 2 friends...
-
Looks like an LJ to me too, same as ornamental, know of one in town.

Well it ain't me cause mine Khaki, nice try though ;D
I agree it looks like an LJ, space between the door and flare, angle of roll bar and space behind gas filler all point to an LJ.

I think I agree with Kevin on this one. Second pic is stretched quite a bit.
-
Naw.... it's a stretched YJ.
-
Picture stretched or not, look at the gas filler in relation to the flare and then the tail corner, definitely a lot closer to the flare which leads me to believe its an LJ since they are 5" longer in that area when compared to a TJ.
-
Naw.... it's a stretched YJ.
Nah. It's a choped MZ.

I see what your saying.... can't be that many around....

Is the rear flare broken on driver side? If so that will make it easier to find

I assume by the "Rock" you mean NFLD, You sure the jeep was still in your driveway?
-
Yup Nfld
We arrived back at 15:30 Saturday - Jeep was in driveway with very low driver side rear tire. Also hardtop installed and there is no back seat in jeep.

LOL... Your alibi sounds 'rock' solid....
-
looks like one that was for sale on kijiji last month...
-
it wasn't me :D
-
thought I saw this jeep in the summerset area but that one was an LJ but had pocket flares and a head light bar
-
We think we found it.... and pretty close by too. One of the parents was driving down a back lane and snapped some pics. Silver LJ with flat fenders.
Had it parked under a tarp but the it had blown off.... School has forwarded the info to the cops

Good detective work.
Now if the owner walks into the police station, hands them a written confession and provide school yard soil samples still in his tires, the CPS will have a 50/50 chance of solving the case.

That's the problem With this kind of stuff, unless he says he did it, it's just another silver jeep, even with a license plate it wouldn't make a difference, can't charge a vehicle with trespassing or vandalism.

from personal experience, if your vehicle is used in some sort of incident such as this... even if they cant tell whos driving... they forward you (registered owner) the bill/tickets/charges and its up to you to prove your innocence or get whoever was driving your vehicle to pay up...

Hope you fought that bill because its wrong, and that comes from personal experience AND professional experience. The strong arm of the law works better then the right arm does when it comes to paying the "bills". Besides, who's the registered owner? I'm the registered owner of a silver Jeep should I expect a bill?

Yes. The CJA is going to mail you a bill for taking up so much bandwidth. 8)

Hey guys,
The jeep they were taking pictures of is mine. I had a tarp on it due to a number of issues, including the ODPA failing. Didn't do my homework when I bought it. Anyways I saw this post but didn't really want to say anything due to the fact I'm a university student with an identical jeep in the area. All signs would point to me despite what case I pleaded. Being a new member my word doesn't really mean much with you guys, but I wouldn't have risked driving it and losing the whole engine let alone take it ripping through a school yard.
-
Dude... If it was not you then you got nothing to hide. Glad you came forward...
I appreciate your honesty in the matter! Kudos to ya.

And I've let the school know :-)
