Post by: skeeter08 on June 06, 2006, 10:57:46 PM
i want my jeep in peak condition before i take it out on the trail.... and i noticed as i was driving(start-stop) that my front drive shaft was hitting the exausht pipe that goes around the oil pan... its more that its just nicking it but making a sound every time and it drives me insane!!

is it my motor mounts wearing ?? because i was going to change them... or is it something else causing this????

please help its been doing this for a long arse time??!!!!!!!

wow... did someone put different headers on? Does it sound more guff than usual? if you cut a few inches off after the collector, would it pull everything back into its spot? Maybe check your exaughst hangers to make sure they are supporting the whole line, not pulling it down unecesarily. Just a few idears

try repositioning the down pipe and tightening the bolts that hold it the the exhaust manifold. it's probly just loose.

Do you have an adjustable track-bar on the front?
If so, it may be adjusted a bit too long which results in the front axle being pulled slightly to the passenger side which in turn will put the driveshaft closer to the exhaust.

So the wheels are centered beneath the jeep.
