Title: Side Steps for 2013 JKU Rubicon
Post by: canthonyparkinson on November 04, 2013, 04:25:58 PM
Who makes side steps that can go on a Rubicon (JKU 2013) and still keep the Factory Rock Rails?

I dont know that you will find a lot of "steps" bur ACE engineering had a set of rock sliders that worked with the rubi rails.

If you want something that will work as steps as well as give you rocker protection there are a few options:

As Dan said, ACE does a neat job of affordable rocker protection that sticks out a little further and lets vertically challenged passengers step up more easily.

Poison Spyder offers a kit that welds right onto your factory Rubi rails called "DIY Rico Step kit".  This is the least expensive option...but will require welding to install. Also, it leaves all of the attachment points for the rocker armor at the factory points - on the body, not on the frame.

If you want first-rate protection and are willing to curse a lot during the install take a look at the Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers. They have a step, connect to both the body and frame, and provide pretty much complete coverage all the from the front wheel well to the rear wheel well, starting at the frame rail and running all the way up to the bottom of the door hinges. I installed a set on my JK last week and they are some serious rocker protection (a good thing for a 4 door JK).
