Title: Toy Run this Christmas
Post by: 1stjeep.ro on November 23, 2013, 10:16:25 AM
Hey guys, the holiday season is upon us and unfortunatly there are a large number of unpriviledged children. I recall the CJA used to have a Toy Run of some sort every Holiday season but I havent seen anything on it thus far. Id like to get involved this year so Im asking you when/if/how this is taking place?  Cheers

I just hopped on here to ask the same question, and hopefully this year will be warmer than last year. :)

One of the things I was going to propose this year was doing a toy drive for the Toy Mountain in High River. I think all previous years' events have delivered the toys to the Children's Hospital - certainly a great place to get toys for - but so is High River this year.

The HR Toy Mountain will also accept gift cards, and it would be nice to pick up gift cards from some of the local business in High River -- that way we'd be helping out both the businesses and community as well as families there.

Thoughts?

I love the toy runs as well. But they are not ours.  The 4 wheel stampeders take that under their wing. We take the reigns when they are unable to take part. I don't know if they are doing it this year.

The Four Wheel Stampeders won't be hosting the Toy Cruise this year but thanks for the interest.
I'm sure I can safely say we won't be hosting future ones either.

Soooooooo.... can we host them then? :)

I don't think it's something that needs a huge amount of effort to coordinate. Even if we only ended up with a few toys initially, that could make a major difference to a child or family that wasn't going to be able to do / get anything.

Exec is talking about this at the moment and will post something up one or the other soon.

We may not be able to pull something together this year but could look at next year.
