Hey everyone, I had just recently installed a 3.5" lift on my jeep. after installing the leaf springs I was getting vibrations, so I added a 2.5* shim. The vibes are (almost) gone, but now im getting a grinding everytime i ease on or off the throttle, or even sometimes coasting. typically the problem start 60km/h and up.
any ideas what the grinding is coming from?
The tranny fluid seemed ok, (I have new fluid just lazy to replace).

When you are on the gas; you have tension on your joints and bearings on your drive train. When you release the gas the tension is off and if you have anything lose; it will vibrate/slop around.
Check the drive shafts u-joints and also see if the CV is sloppy. Grease them if they are greasable.
Check your pinions also... the bearings might be toast. Open up your diffs (that means changing the fluid in both diffs) and see if there are any metal shavings in the oil. Stick a magnet in the oil if you're not sure...see if your oil looks like metallic paint. usually the bigger pieces are in the "groove/divit" inside the diffs.
If your Lazy (like you said)... don't ask questions and just go see Dave and Eric at Brokenaxles ;D...

Did you install the TC drop? Mine did the same thing. My guess is your driveline angle is way off. Your tc output shaft and pinion shaft should be on the same plane. Save yourself a lot of grief and get a SYE, ask me how I know LOL. Check the Tom Woods website shows correct driveline angles for both SYE and stock.

Thanks Ill check them out, im doing what I can to avoid the SYE for now, I will need a bit of time to save up to get the parts needed for it, havent done the tc drop but considering it for the meantime

Check the exhaust for rubbing on the rear shackle and and tranny crossmemeber.
