Title: How to wire 4 - 130Watt lights
Post by: jeep420 on June 18, 2006, 03:45:27 PM
What is the best way to wire 4 lights together???  Should I use a relay somewhere in there?  What about a fuse?  Is it better to run 2 and 2 versus all 4 off of 1 heavy duty switch?  I would rather have all 4 on a switch because when I need them, I will need all of them!  They are pro comp stainless 130 Watt lights if it matters going on a YJ.

Use 2 relays with a single low amperage switch taken off of something switched and definitely use a fuse before both relays as close to your positive source, preferably the battery, as possible.

So run a relay for each set of lights and a fuse on each circuit, but I am confused on the running a switch off something that is switched????  From there I can run all 4 lights to one switch???

Tap into your cig lighter wires, this will give you a switched source (turns off when the vehicle is off) Run that wire to the switch then to the 87 post of relay 1 and split to relay 2.  This low amp draw will energize the relays only when the switch is on and the vehicle is running.  Then run + to each relay off the battery...

Make sense?
