No idea with out more details.

Over heat at idle? on the highway?

Does your electric fan come on?  Is your mechanical fan turning OK?  Have you checked your thermostat?

You need the hd coolong package or air condition to get the second cooling fan.

Jeeps of that era all have marginal cooling systems at best.
Life span of thermal clutch in front of existing fan is like 150000 kms at best. Upgrade to gc thermoclutch as it has more lockup.
One row radiator. Plastic tank crimped to fins. They leak when tempature rises so no pressure so slow creep up of tempatures, Esp. on the highway. Could add a cooling extra cooling fan. Go for think it is 96 and up has more airflow. Wire it in on a switch.
Some times when you change therostats you got to go through a couple till you get one that works properly.

Your A/C electric fan should kick on when the temp gets real warm..... regardless if the A/C or defrost is on...

Fan is irrelevant at high way speeds, lots of airflow through rad. I'd be checking the temp across the rad to see if it's plugged.

Is your rad caked with mud by chance? If it is that will cause overheating, especially with the a/c condensor blocking air flow in front of the rad.

I am sorry to say but if you have over heated it (especially more then once)  you have probably warped the head and the head gasket is probably blown allowing coolant to pass over into the firing chamber,  that seems to be a problem with the straight 6 because they are such a long motor, have you noticed a lack of power, white colored exhaust, milkiness in the oil?

This is probably why it is still overheating on you at highway speeds the motor isnt running right making it work to hard and water in the oil makes for less lubrication making excess heat
