I see someone beat me to posting this up on one of the forums. I will post more details as I get them but suffice it to say this should be a hell of an event. It will be held 13-Sept in Ponoka and we are expecting a number of vendors to be there with some awesome prizes.
-
So is this the event that will be replacing the annual Show and Shine?
-
No this is not replacing cja s&s. cja show and shine is still bring planned. More details on our cja show and shine to come soon.
-
Actually we can't seem to get ourselves organized so there will NOT be a show and shine this year. We will try to get back to our regularly scheduled event next year.
For this year the Fall Flex event is your best bet to show off your rig, meet wheelers from all over the province and win some awesome prizes.
-
Well that sucks that it is off the books
At least this event will be good

They are also trying to co-ordinate this with a run the next day in the Praire Creek area.

I was going to suggest that we put a run on down here as well for the folks who can't make the drive to PC. thoughts?

I'd be interested in a mild run... I have a long drive home, so nothing too crazy.

I seriously doubt that anything at Praire Creek would be "mild"....but depends who they get to lead the run.
-
If it's the red deer guys leading the run expect lots of trail rash, winching and gnarly trails
-
So the flex thingy on saturday and then prairie creek on sunday?

Always up for a run but dont do sundays... So i guess its the flex event for me!
-
Yes ... Flex event is Saturday and there will be some runs setup on Sunday.
There is a site here (http://fallflex.ca/) with some more info

This. I have never come back from Prairie Creek without at least a little bit of body damage - and I'm not talking about pinstriping.
-
Yup I am alive
Hostly wheeling PC on a sunday is not the best unless you are just running to the fire tower and back. To many times have i been out there and it turns really bad really fast.

Why do you guys have such an issue with PC. In all the years, I wheeled there, the worst that even happen to me was a spat out a u-joint while dead towing a TJ up a hill
-
the trees are racist out there.. they don't like Ron's red truck.
-
PC trees are good Dom. They stay in place. The don't jump in front of you like they do further south. ;D
-
Ha! ... Thats a fact!

I have not been out there in a couple years but what I was finding is what the trails where when I first started going not the same are. Kevin can back me/ crap in my tent. I ran a short trail 2 weekends before we went down it and it was a fun little run. 2 weeks later and some rain and the trail turned to a hellish push to get to the end.
Falls creek road is gated, you can get around it buy the trappers cabin but I don’t know how tore up it is in that area. The old jamboree trails have deterated with large washouts in some of them. I have found and been introduced to other trails out there but they are long and you don’t go in with a time line to get out.
Plus it has been snowing out there all weekend.
