Used some birthday money to buy some...crap are they bright.
I will not ever be able to use the factory lights again.

Given that you drive a JK, you could have outshone the factory lights with two bic lighters and 18 square inches of tin foil....but I'm happy for you. Really, I am.

where did you get the lights and is there ones for 1999 TJ

I put IPF e-code h4 housings in my tj and ran the IPF fatboy bulbs as well as an upgraded wiring harness with relays and those headlights are unreal. I took all the additional fog and driving lights off because I couldn't notice a difference when they were turned on. It's an often overlooked but worthwhile modification.

Did the same thing on my XJ, but my Hella H4 housings keep cracking (suspect the hotter bulbs are heating up the lens which cracks when its instantly cooled by going through deep mud holes). Plus, they're still crap when the lens gets covered in thick mclean mud, so I would still opt for separate fog/driving lights mounted higher up ie. on the roof above windshield or even on the cowl same height as the door mirrors.

can somebody tell me where i can get brackets to mount lights on the hinge part of the windshield of a 99TJ
are the torx bolts hard to get out ?

To each their own but any lights mounted above the headlights are asking for a ticket, even if they're covered they are illegal. Not to mention you can't use them on the highway where you really need them. If my headlights get dirty and it's dark I suppose I could walk up there and wipe them off...

I'm not going to do that after every mudhole.
I've had uncovered lights mounted on the roof of my Jeep for years and never been ticketed for them. I've been ticketed for lack of mud flaps, tires sticking out past fenders, a cop even had issues with my lack of rear bumper once but couldn't actually find any law about it that he could ticket me on, but not once has anyone had issue with my lights.
I don't daily drive my Jeep anymore, its become a trailer queen, but that's besides the point: Whether its illegal or not, cops around here don't seem to care if you've got extra lights mounted up high. Not even the RCMP.

This here. It's not as cool, but I think it represents the best value for money.
You can spend upwards of $1000 on new HID or LED headlights if you really wanna do it right....or $150 on new H4's and an upgraded harness. Good e-code H4's (Hella, Cibie, or IPF) with a good harness and 55w bulbs will give you 90% of what the most expensive LED will. I got 6 years of use out of the last set of H4 bulbs that I ran.
Choosing H4's over LED's will also prevent you from having an aneurysm when you are following Dingleberry's Jeep (with no mud flaps and tires that stick out past the fender and no rear bumper) down the trunk road and a rock flies up and breaks the lens on your headlight. Replacement H4 unit....$35.00. Replacement LED unit - $350 or more.

Any 4x4 shop can order you the brackets. Torx are no harder nor easier than any other bolt to remove. If you have a torx bit you can remove a torx bolt. A robertson wont cut it.
