Title: Wiring issue
Post by: newfiewheeler on December 03, 2014, 04:46:43 PM
So I seem to be having a wiring issue and after replacing the old deck, it still is happening.
Whenever I turn on the radio, after a couple minutes the gauge cluster and the radio loose power. If I turn the radio off, the gauges will eventually start to work again.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Does it matter if the headlights(dash lights) are on or off?

no it doesn't. i left work and drove for about 10 minutes before it cut out this time. if i turn off the deck, the gauges work fine. i checked the iod fuse and its fine.

What jeep do you have? " no bus" is a jk thing as it loses it canbus, and the radio is part of that system, or at least it talk to something thru it.
How did you install the new radio? An adaptor plug to wiring? Or did you choose your own wires to tap into? What else did you out in at the same time, amp?
