Painless Wiring has a simple kit that's pretty cheap too. I used it for flex a lite fan I have in my car and it works great. No on/off  switch but a simple probe that goes into the cooling system and a relay to turn the fan on/off.

I'm manually running 2 factory XJ fans on $5 princess auto switches. Just make sure the switches are rated for about 15 or 20A.

Try a mid 90s XJ(Chrysler not Renix), the sensor is built into the t-stat housing but it should just swap right onto your YJ 4.0. The sensors are a bit fragile to don't run a heavy load thru them. On the XJ they kicked the relay that controlled the auxiliary electric cooling fan.
