Title: 98 cherokee xj steering wheel column knock
Post by: anjoxj98 on March 11, 2015, 12:38:25 PM
Hello guys,

As I mentioned I have a 98 cherokee xj.
The steering wheel column is knocking and is driving me crazy. I guess is a bearing inside the column or something.
I was wondering if I have to replace the column or is something that it can be fix and how to fix it .

Thank you in advance

Google gm tilt steering wheel fix. Easy to do. Takes time. It is the ujoint in the column that comes apart usually.

I doubt the. 98 would have the GM column.
That being said, my 05 TJ has a slight knock in the column and I believe I tracked it down to the pillow block support, there us a slight amount of radial play in it.
