Title: What to do with old parts?

I have a couple of steering gear boxes and a brake master cylinder lying around I want to get out of the garage. Is there any place local that takes these for rebuild cores? I bought online, so I didn't have a core charge (or at least it wasn't worth shipping back).

Is my bet bet just to haul these to a metal recycler?
