Abjk is finished.
-
Not too surprized. I'll bet the boys at ASRD are proudly watching clubs drop out of the scenes.
-
What happened to ABJK?
-
I believe they had legal action against them.

I believe they had legal action against them.
Related to the accident in Edmonton a couple of years ago?
-
I thought that was settled, but ......this is the first site that said they were gone, could just be a glitch in the system
-
Law suite was start of the finish.
-
Owner of the website life changes. Wanted to exit and there was forum moderstors there to take over but not with the computer skills required. Think both abjk fb pages will be up for a while.
-
And the FB pages are worthless.

Yea. Different mind set on faceplant. Mall crawlers with all the pimp my ride accessories.
Was there any trail guys left in there before shutdown ?
-
I think there was a few, but they could have been from Red Deer or Calgary as well. Eventually they will find there way down here

I've met a few abjk and had a chance to run weekend trips. Few good people who actually wheel. Glad I can still keep in contact with them.

hi - newbie here...and rather new to the Jeep world also.
Actually came across several references to the ABJK club when we were looking for jeeping clubs - and it's rather concerning that something could go so wrong that a club would 'fall apart' and be involved in law suits. At least one of their sites showed up as "account suspended" and any forums seemed inactive.
Calgary Jeeping Association also showed up in our search, and we saw that this forum was somewhat active, so we thought we would join up here.
We would really like some information on group meets etc, and even on the land use situation. It seems to be difficult to even find places to go off road. We have an 03 TJ, 2.5 lift, 31" tires, winch and custom bumper. Haven't really done too much on it other than these few things as its our first jeep, but we are enjoying getting 'out there' with what we have. We have been out Sundre way, and of course logging roads in both BC and Alberta.
Thanks!

Welcome dutchies.
We are a small but active group here. Tend to try the more challenging trails.
We are continually losing trails to some sort of land closures from provincial government. So we do not discuss trails on open side of forum other then maclean creek or waiporous.
We do have monthly meetings third wednesday of the month at the Austrian club.
Watch the forum for open runs.

Sometimes its best to shut everything down and move on.
