Now that they're ordered, I have a question:
How feasible is it to run the vehicle using only the front driveshaft while the new rear one is being sent to me?
Poor choice or something I can take it easy & get away with for a few days?

Nothing to keep the fluid in if you remove the rear driveshaft.

I killed a tranny in my old truck doing that just from a mudpit going back to camp 10 minutes away in waiporous a few years back.... just like redbull said, hard to keep your fluid in!

I'm pretty sure the TJ's have rear seal that prevents fluid loss if the rear shaft is pulled.

No need for a rear driveshaft in a TJ. I have done the front wheel drive thing a few times when I have had the rear out for repairs. YJ's are a different story!

Keep in mind that it's going to be a FIXED YOKE to the rear...is there still a concern at all about spillage?

Anything to worry about if I do this?

I stand corrected! Also, if you have a fixed yoke then it's seal would keep all fluid in place.

Right on... thanks for the tip...
