Title: lights won't go out
Post by: rossb on August 25, 2006, 02:03:19 PM
I have a 2002 TJ.  Just this week I was driving it and now the lights won't go off, even without the key in it.  Also the high beam indicator is on solidly whenever it is running.  I have been towing the jeep quite a bit behind the MH but there are separately wired lights for use when towing.  Anyone ever have a problem like this?  The only way I can get the lights to go off is to take off the battery cable or disconnect the lights.

Suggestions?

thanks
ross

Check the daytime running lights module, it will probably be toast.

...bingo...that is exactly what it was.  Thanks for the help.

BTW the dealer charged 152 bucks for one...makes me think that there are some criminals in the parts department :)

BTW there is a work around if you do not want to replace the module.  You can pull it out .. but the high beam indicator wont work.  This is a link that sorta explains it.  You can search to find other sites as well:
