So I got a call for a recovery yesterday afternoon and every recovery has a story this one I thought everyone should hear. As the story goes this guy got stuck Saturday some time and had a few guys in a BLACK CHEVY OR GMC STOCK TRUCK stop to help and help they did. After they had pulled his rig out they unhooked the strap . the guy who had been pulled out got out of his rig and went to say thank you. as he was walking to the other rig one of the so called helpers hopped in and drove off with his truck at the same time the guy driving the black truck sped away. his rig was found Sunday night very stuck with no keys + allot of body damage and minus a 3000, stereo. so everyone be careful out there and watch out for who you get to help.

Wow... When i am camping and out in the bush, I trust everyone. No reason not to till now! We have usually 4 - 5 trucks, half dozen mini quads all left with keys in them going to bed!

   WOW
Got to be careful out there... you never know who you deal with.
Thanks Jay for the reminder...

This was at Maclean? The guy didn't get a plate number off the truck that pulled him out? Sounds fishy. Not a lot of guys with the marbles to try that. .....Steve
-
Ya it was at maclean (fisher east parking lot) the guy in the black truck pull him back wards so all he seen as he drove away was the front of the truck.
-
this sounds fishy, i would almost think it could be some sort of insurance scam. i hope not, but the idea that people go around stealing peoples rigs like that is not cool either.
this is why we wheel with multiple friends/rigs, and why some of us carry shotguns

You mean to tell me the guy was able to drive backwards out of the trail faster than the owner could run after him?
Insurance sounds like a good bet.

he was stuck in a hole at fisher east parking lot. L ots of room to get away.
I can not say if the story is true or not he had other people there that seen it.
-
Oh, it sounded like you got the call from him for a recovery, cause he was lost in the middle of nowhere without his rig, all alone. Missed the Fisher's part.
And with lots of room I still don't see why they'd back away from him.
Weird.

true or not true I don't know if it is I just thought everyone should know.
I would hate to see this kind of thing happen to me. :(

Yup. If you're going to steal it, fine.
Just, Dear God, don't ever let me find what's left of it.
