ok guys need some help here!!!! i went to replace my front wheel bearings at the weekend, and found out that the threads on the spindle and the threads on the bearing retainer nut are hooped!!! i was wondering if any of you guys had a thread chaser so i could recut the threads as the front and rear diffs are from a 70-71 int scout and replacements are few and far between or any suggestions would help??????

That would be a pretty monster sized die.
My first suggestion would be to hit up ebay for some used parts, or possibly a complete used axle for spare stuff.
There is also Steve's Ford Parts in town, he may have something.
Jeepstuff has the odd bit of old rare stuff out there.
The spindle nut you should be able to get at the gear center.
Do you know what years and axles interchange spindles and bearings on yours? You might get lucky and find the parts were also available on a more common axle like a chev or something. Since scout still used dana axles like everyone else.
good luck
