If your going to take your cat off you should get the end as far away from you as possible to help avoiding the bad smell and all around unhealthy affects of having no cat.

I have no CAT and there is absolutely no smell. I think if the engine is in a good state of tune, (running close to stioch.) you shouldn't get a smell. My Pathfinder reeked of sulfur, and that was will all emmisions stuff in place.

I agree wiht RedYJ, you are gonna want to get those harmfull gasses out the back end...I would do what all the guys talked about in the previous exhaust post and go to a muffler shop and just get them to route you pipe to the end.

I ended up picking up a Borla Cat back system and love the sound!!

Use a bent peice from somewhere else in the tail pipe, spit it out sideways a few inches back of the muffler.

If the cat has an 02 sensor, leave it be. If not, you can cut it out.

Make sure you have that bend. Your muffler will fill and plug with mud if you dont.
