It seems like it's just been one of those months...
Where can I get my hands on either a helicoil or preferably a timesert in Calgary?
-
You try Napa? That's where we get all ours at work. What are you trying to fix?

I haven't talked to Napa yet I know they'll have the kits but I'm hoping to just find the inserts. I'm fixing a sway bar bushing/steering brace mount...conviently located inside the frame rail otherwise I'd just use a longer bolt and a nut. The way everything is jammed in there it's probably not a huge issue to leave it alone but while it's all apart I may as well fix it right.

I don't know if this helps.... Partially because I don't know if your Jeep is unibody or body on frame.
I broke off a bolt removing the sway bar bushing bracket on my XJ when I was putting in the new steering box.
I tried to drill it and EZ out the broken bolt, but no luck. I put my EZ out back into the hole and tapped (Yes, tapped!) it with my hammer to set it in place better for another try, and sonovagun, the weld holding the nut broke, and the nut and broken bolt popped free, up into the unibody frame rail.
I had some nutserts, so I tried one in the hole, but it wouldn't grab the sides of the hole properly, so I taped a nut into the box end of a wrench, slid it up the frame rail (after pulling the bumper) and just popped a bolt through.
It was such a simple fix, I wish I'd never spent the time drilling, messing with the EZ out, and the nutsert. Pulling the bumper takes a little time, though.

They also sell just the inserts too. We have a bunch of different sizes at work and I could grab 1 or 2 if thats all you need. Save you from buying a ten pack. If you know the size and thread pitch I can see if we have the right ones. They are a buck or two each.
