Title: TJ STARTERS
Post by: JasonL_031 on November 04, 2006, 11:06:22 PM
ok what year starters use the same one for a 03? cause i went to crappy tire to see if they had one and they said that the vehicle is too new for them to carry the part or some bs like that so i am wondering what years use the same starter for a 03 with a 4L 5 spd manual?
Thanks Jason

I put a newer TJ starter on a 94 XJ 4.0 with no problem, just a different ground connector.  The starters from what I know are all the same

the main starter body is the same but the connection at the solenoid can be different.  If you want a direct fit starter you need 03-06. if your solenoid is still good swap it on to an older starter and save yourself a few bucks.
