Title: No start?

when i go to start my 89 yj everything in inside will turn on but when i turn the key to start all i get is a tick and it dies i just replace the starter the batteris not dead  any ideas would help

Bad connections or cables? Have you tried boosting it? Sometimes a battery can have a bad internal connection that only shows up under heavy load.

Check the ground connection on the starter relay.

Check battery terminals and starter connections.

A load test of the battery should tell you it's condition.

How old is this battery ?

all  conections are good  battery was bought last year

I have the same problem with my 90 cherokee,  But I figured out that it was the neutral safety switch.  I just shift between park and neutral for now until I can change it.  It might be that.
