Post by: JasonL_031 on November 26, 2006, 02:47:35 PM
Well i found out on thursday right before my shift started at Parts Canada that there was a opening on a leopard and TLAV Drivers  course and then after that go to Afganistan. The course starts monday nov 27 06 and i was like wow short notice but i jumped on it and said yes i will apply for the course. Found out at 358 pm that i was accepted on the course so now i am getting ready to head up to edmonton to take the course and then after that i am going to be attached to the Lord Strathcona Horse C Squardron. So i will be taking lots of pics of my experiences and of my deployment over seas to Afgainistan. I belive that i am getting deployed in either April or August of 07. I will be down almost every weekend untill i get deployed. But i will be one of 4 memebers of the Kings Own Calgary Regiment to get the TLAV and Leopard and i will be one of the first members to use the leopard in Afganistan.

cool....................a tip on drivin the leo. your gona wana keep ypur revs up going into a corner............ other wise it wont want to turn for nothin. the sharper the turn the more rpm. when i knew i was commin up to an intesection and had to make a hard left or right, i would time it and drop it about two gears, it would crap down and i would crank it and pin it at the same time. nuthin but v-12 rumble, black smoke and a wicked lookin turn 8)

lot of good memories burnin them around germany.
