Title: Steering issues
Post by: TaTtOo on December 15, 2006, 10:25:40 AM
Well I was out running around last night and discovered that I was unable to completely turn the wheels all the way to the right.  When I got home I had a look and found that when the steering wheel was being turned the drag link pushes the tie rod and when in motion (side to side) the tie rod is rotating and the bolts for the clamp at the end of the tie rod on the drivers side and hitting the leaf spring and stopping the turn.  Any ideas why this would start happening ... whats causing it.... and/or what the solution is?  Here are some pics to illustrate what I am talking about.

Wheels straight

Wheels turned to the right (note bolt hitting leaf)

The bolts have probably just come loose and I would move them back up and tighten them done.  You will have to check your tires for tie-in or out to make sure that that collar did not move and change this.

Yeah, my best guess would be loosen it, spin the bolt around to the top and tighten...but i'm no mechanic
