Title: What size alternator for my XJ?
Post by: dubbleJs on December 26, 2006, 01:11:31 PM
My alternator just went on my 90 4L XJ. I dont have too many aftermarket accessories...two fog lights I just put in and probably 4 more offroad lights to come.
How many amps is stock, Will a 100amp do or should I go bigger? Any problems with fitment when going bigger than stock?
Called autovalue and they quote $130 + $50 core for 100amp.

I went to Amperage Technologies for my '98.. They specialize in alternators set up for offroad use. They got a 160 amp unit for mine. It wasn't cheap though ... $400.00
